Important Notes & Disclaimers Regarding Collection
- Saliva collection should occur at beginning of appointment prior to any contamination of the oral cavity, such as rinses or periodontal probing.
- Patient should not eat or drink for 30 minutes prior to sample collection.
- Patient sample must be registered online in your Bristle account in order for Bristle to process the sample.

Instructions for Collecting Saliva Sample
Each collection kit should include these written instructions for collecting a saliva sample.

- Take the collection tube, remove the blue cap, and insert the funnel by pushing the narrow end into the tube opening
- Patient collects saliva into funnel and fills collection tube until roughly 2/3 of tube is full with liquid and saliva combined
- Remove funnel, seal tube with blue cap, and invert tube 5-10 times
- Place tube inside clear biohazard bag and seal. Place clear bag inside mailer envelope and seal.
For US: Return to Bristle via USPS using the prepaid return envelope.
For Canada: Return to Bristle at the address below via your shipping carrier of choice.

5. Register sample using the barcode starting with “BH” in your account online at app.bristlehealth.com.
